8-bit S08 core at 40 MHz — memory and peripheral budget
The MC9S08SL8CTJ is an 8-bit microcontroller built around the S08 core, clocked at 40 MHz. The peripheral set includes a 12-channel, 10-bit ADC, plus I²C, LINbus, SCI, and SPI serial interfaces. Sixteen general-purpose I/O lines are available in the 20-TSSOP package. On-chip peripherals LVD, POR, PWM, and WDT reduce external component count for basic system supervision and motor-control timing.
Supply, temperature, and package — layout constraints
The operating temperature grade is -40°C to +85°C, suitable for industrial enclosures and outdoor telecom cabinets. Surface-mount assembly with standard reflow profile; no exposed pad.
Active production — compliance and sourcing
NXP lists the MC9S08SL8CTJ as an active product with ROHS3 compliance.
