20 MHz S08 core with 4 KB Flash — BOM-fit for cost-sensitive control
The MC9S08SE4CWL is an NXP 8-bit microcontroller from the S08 family, built around the S08 core running at 20 MHz. The internal oscillator saves the external crystal or resonator, reducing BOM count and board area.
On-chip peripherals — ADC, PWM, LIN, and supervisor blocks
An 8-channel, 10-bit ADC reads analog inputs like temperature sensors or potentiometers directly, without an external converter. The PWM module drives simple motor or LED dimming loads, while the LINbus and SCI interfaces handle serial communication in automotive or industrial sensor networks. Built-in Low-Voltage Detect (LVD) and Power-On Reset (POR) supervise the supply — the MCU resets cleanly on brownout without an external supervisor IC. 24 general-purpose I/O pins are available for keypad scanning, display segments, or relay control.
Industrial temperature grade and active lifecycle
The 28-SOIC wide-body package (7.50 mm width) is a standard surface-mount footprint with good thermal dissipation for moderate loads.
