4 I/O pins — the tightest constraint on system integration
With only 4 I/O pins, every external connection must be multiplexed or shared. The 10-bit ADC shares pins with GPIO, so a sensor input consumes one of the four available pins. This part is designed for single-function control loops — a temperature sensor feeding the ADC, a PWM output driving a small fan or valve, and a digital input for a limit switch — not for multi-peripheral buses.
4 KB Flash — firmware budget for a dedicated control task
The 4 KB Flash (4K x 8) and 256 x 8 RAM limit the firmware to a single-purpose application — a PID loop, a simple state machine, or a sensor-to-PWM translator. There is no room for a real-time OS or a large lookup table.
