Peripheral set and memory map for system architecture
The MC9S08PB8MTJ: 18 general-purpose I/O lines are available, along with a 12-channel, 12-bit ADC for analog sensor inputs. Communication interfaces include I²C, SPI, and UART/USART, plus LINbus for automotive body networks. On-chip peripherals include a low-voltage detect (LVD) for brownout protection, power-on reset (POR), a PWM module for motor or LED dimming, and a watchdog timer (WDT) for system supervision. The external oscillator input lets you choose the clock source — a crystal, resonator, or external clock — to match the timing accuracy your application needs.
20-TSSOP package and board-fit note
Housed in a 20-lead TSSOP with a 4.40mm body width and 0.65mm pin pitch, this MCU fits a small PCB footprint. The surface-mount package is suited for reflow assembly; the 0.65mm pitch is manageable on a two-layer board for most designs.
