40 MHz S08 core with integrated LCD segment driver
The MC9S08LC60LH: Its headline feature is the integrated LCD driver peripheral, which directly drives segment-based glass LCD panels without an external controller — a key advantage for display-centric embedded designs.
Memory and I/O budget for a display-driven application
60 KB of on-chip FLASH program memory and 4 KB of RAM (4K x 8) provide enough code and data space for a mid-complexity user interface or instrumentation application. The 18 general-purpose I/O pins, combined with the dedicated LCD segment drive pins, allow a compact layout — the LCD function shares pins with GPIO, so the available I/O count depends on how many segments are driven. Two 12-bit ADC channels (A/D 2x12b) handle analog inputs like potentiometers or sensor outputs. The peripheral set also includes a low-voltage detect (LVD), power-on reset (POR), PWM timer, and watchdog timer (WDT), plus serial connectivity via I²C, SCI, and SPI — enough for a simple fieldbus or sensor interface.
Supply range, temperature grade, and package footprint
The commercial temperature range (0°C to 70°C) suits indoor appliances, point-of-sale terminals, and consumer electronics — not extended industrial or automotive environments.
