40 MHz S08 core with CAN 2.0 and 60 KB on-chip Flash
The MC9S08DZ60ACLH: It packs 60 KB of Flash program memory, 2 KB of EEPROM, and 4 KB of RAM on a single die — enough code space for a CAN node running a bootloader plus application, with the EEPROM holding calibration or configuration data that survives power loss. The peripheral set is oriented toward body-electronics and industrial control: a CAN 2.0 controller, LIN bus, two SPI/I2C modules, and two SCI (UART) channels cover the common fieldbus and sensor interfaces. The 24-channel 12-bit ADC samples up to 24 analog inputs without an external multiplexer — useful for reading potentiometers, thermistors, or current-sense resistors across a panel.
Supply range, temperature grade, and supervisory peripherals
On-chip LVD (low-voltage detect) and POR (power-on reset) supervise the supply and hold the core in reset until the rail is stable, eliminating the external supervisor IC in many designs. The PWM module and watchdog timer round out the supervisory and timing peripherals.
Active lifecycle and compliance documentation
The manufacturer provides a full datasheet, reference manual, application notes, and IBIS models for signal-integrity simulation. No UL or IEC component-level certification is published for this device; regulatory compliance is handled at the end-equipment level.
