Memory and peripheral budget for a control-loop MCU
The MC9S08DN32MLF is an 8-bit MCU from NXP's S08 family, running at 40 MHz. It carries 32 KB of flash program memory, 1.5 KB of RAM, and a separate 1 KB EEPROM block — enough headroom for a control loop with a modest data log or calibration table stored in the EEPROM without wearing the flash. On-chip peripherals include a 16-channel 12-bit ADC for reading analog sensors, plus LVD, POR, PWM, and WDT for supervisory and timing tasks. Serial connectivity covers I²C, LINbus, SCI, and SPI — the LIN interface makes this part a natural fit for automotive body electronics or industrial actuator nodes that talk on a local interconnect bus.
