Technical Details & Description

Six low-side channels with SPI diagnostics

The MC33882PEP from NXP is a 6-channel low-side power switch in a 32-HVQFN exposed-pad package. Each N-channel output switches a grounded load against a supply rail from 8V to 25V, with a separate 4.5V to 5.5V logic supply for the SPI and parallel control interface.

400 mOhm Rds(on) and integrated fault protection

Built-in fault protection covers current limiting (fixed threshold), open-load detection, and over-voltage clamping — the diagnostics report back over the SPI bus so the system controller can identify which channel failed and whether the fault is a short, an open circuit, or an over-voltage event.
