Logic-level gate and isolated package for AC switching
The BTA202X-800D,127 is a logic-level sensitive-gate triac from WeEn, rated for 800 V off-state and 2 A RMS on-state current. Housed in a TO-220-3 Full Pack with an isolated tab (TO-220F), the package provides galvanic isolation between the die and the heatsink surface — no insulating pad or washer is needed when mounting to a grounded chassis or heatsink. This simplifies assembly and improves thermal transfer for line-powered loads like small motors, solenoids, or lighting ballasts.
Surge capability and hold current for inductive loads
Non-repetitive surge current is rated at 14 A at 50 Hz and 15.4 A at 60 Hz — this covers inrush from incandescent lamps or capacitive loads without exceeding the die's thermal capacity. The 5 mA max hold current keeps the triac latched through the zero-cross of inductive loads, reducing the risk of premature commutation dropout. Operating junction temperature extends to 125 °C, which gives margin in enclosed or thermally constrained assemblies. The isolated tab means the heatsink can be shared across multiple triacs on the same rail without isolation hardware.
