Octal D-type with master reset — 36 MHz edge rate
The 74HCT273D/S400118 is an octal D-type flip-flop from the 74HCT family, with a single-element, 8-bit configuration and non-inverted outputs. It triggers on the positive edge of the clock and includes a master reset input that clears all flip-flops asynchronously. The 30 ns figure at 4.5 V is the worst-case path from clock edge to output valid.
Supply voltage and temperature grade
The HCT input thresholds are TTL-compatible, so it interfaces cleanly with 5 V logic without external level shifting. This covers engine-bay, outdoor telecom, and factory-floor enclosures where the ambient can hit 105°C and still leave margin.
Output drive and quiescent draw
Outputs source 4 mA and sink 5.2 mA — enough to drive a standard CMOS gate input or a low-power LED indicator directly. The 8 µA quiescent current (Iq) keeps the standby power under 44 µW at 5.5 V, suitable for always-on buses in power-sensitive designs.
The 1.27 mm pitch is layout-friendly on two-layer boards — no micro-vias needed for fan-out. Bulk packaging means parts are tube- or tray-shipped, not reeled, so plan for manual or low-volume pick-and-place.
