XNOR gate — the identity checker for your board
The NXP 74HC7266D/S410118 is a quad 2-input XNOR (Exclusive NOR) gate from the 74HC family. It outputs a high when both inputs match. Packaged in a 14-SOIC surface-mount package, it operates across a 2V to 6V supply range and a -40°C to 125°C temperature range. With four independent XNOR gates per package, it replaces discrete comparator circuits or multiple standard logic gates in applications like parity checking, data comparison, and encryption circuits.
No last-time-buy notice, no end-of-life clock ticking. The 74HC series is a mature logic family with broad second-source availability across multiple manufacturers, so supply risk is low even if NXP's own fab allocation tightens.
Quiescent current — 2 µA max, essentially zero
Maximum quiescent current is 2 µA across the full supply range. For battery-powered or always-on circuits, this gate adds negligible static draw. The dynamic current scales with frequency and load capacitance — at a few MHz, it's still in the low milliamps, well within what a small LDO or coin cell can supply.
