Product details

CAN transceiver for the 150°C junction — why the H-grade matters

The Microchip MCP2562-H/P is a half-duplex CAN transceiver for the physical-layer interface between a CAN protocol controller and the differential bus.

Supply voltage — 5V only, no 3.3V shortcut

The 5V supply is standard for legacy 5V CAN controllers and for designs where the bus common-mode range benefits from the higher rail.

For a production BOM line, this means no immediate LTB risk and continued factory support.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between MCP2562-H/P and MCP2562-E/P?

The difference is the temperature grade. Both are active, same pinout, same supply range, same half-duplex CAN transceiver function. Choose the H variant when the junction temperature exceeds 125°C in your application.

Is MCP2562-H/P compatible with 3.3V systems?

No. It does not have a separate VIO pin for 3.3V logic levels. If your CAN controller operates at 3.3V, you will need a level translator or a 3.3V-tolerant CAN transceiver.
