5V supply rail – no 3.3V operation
The supply range is 4.5V to 5.5V, so this part will not operate on a 3.3V logic rail. If your design runs a 3.3V MCU, you need a level translator on the Microwire lines or a different EEPROM that supports a lower Vcc. The 2 MHz clock is the maximum; actual throughput depends on the host controller's Microwire timing and the 2 ms write-cycle time per word or page.
