Product details

1500 W surge clamp for 17.1 V rails

The 1.5KE20A-TB: When the protected line exceeds the 19 V minimum breakdown threshold, the Zener junction avalanches and holds the voltage to a maximum 27.7 V at the 54.9 A peak pulse current (10/1000 µs waveform). This clamping ceiling keeps downstream ICs safe from inductive kickback, lightning-induced surges, and ESD events in general-purpose signal and low-voltage power circuits. The unidirectional configuration (single channel) is polarity-sensitive — the cathode band must face the positive rail. For AC or bidirectional protection, two devices back-to-back or a bidirectional variant is needed.

DO-201 axial package and thermal range

Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, the 1.5KE20A-TB mounts through hole and suits point-to-point wiring on terminal blocks, bus bars, or perforated boards.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 1.5KE20A-TB suitable for AC mains power line protection?

No. The device has no power line protection rating — it is intended for DC signal and low-voltage power rail clamping. The 17.1 V standoff voltage and unidirectional polarity also make it unsuitable for AC mains circuits.
