28-PLCC footprint and board integration
The GAL22V10D-15QJ ships in a 28-lead PLCC (J-Lead) package with a body size of 11.51 mm × 11.51 mm. The J-bend leads require a PLCC-28 socket or a reflow profile with a preheat soak zone to avoid solder bridging on the fine-pitch J-lead geometry. Surface-mount mounting type means the part sits flush on the board — no through-hole leads to route.
Speed grade and macrocell architecture
With a maximum propagation delay (tpd) of 15 ns, this EE PLD can clock registered logic at roughly 66 MHz in a typical feedback path — the actual system clock ceiling depends on the external routing delay and the output load capacitance. The 10 macrocells each contain a programmable flip-flop and output logic cell, giving 10 sum-of-product terms for combinatorial or registered state machines. The EE PLD programmable type means the configuration is stored in EEPROM cells — it retains the logic pattern when power is removed and can be reprogrammed in-system or on a programmer. No external configuration memory is needed.
Lattice Semiconductor has marked the GAL22V10D-15QJ as obsolete. The 0°C to 75°C commercial temperature grade limits this variant to indoor, non-condensing environments. For extended temperature ranges, a different speed or package variant from the GAL22V10 family would be needed — but those too may face obsolescence.
