8-macrocell EE PLD with 10 ns propagation delay
The Lattice GAL16V8D-10QP is an electrically erasable programmable logic device from the GAL®16V8 series, offering 8 macrocells in a 20-pin DIP package. It is programmed as an EE PLD, meaning the logic configuration is stored in EEPROM cells and can be reprogrammed in-circuit or on a programmer. The 10 ns propagation delay (tpd) sets the speed grade — combinatorial paths settle within 10 ns, so the device can run at clock rates up to roughly 50-60 MHz in registered mode, depending on the feedback path and output loading. This places it in the mid-speed range of the GAL16V8 family, suitable for glue logic, address decoding, and state machines in legacy 5 V systems.
Supply voltage and temperature grade
The device is specified for commercial temperature operation (0°C to 75°C), so it belongs in controlled indoor environments, not in an unventilated enclosure or near a heat source. Board layout follows the familiar 0.100-inch pitch grid; no fine-pitch routing is needed.
Lattice Semiconductor has marked the GAL16V8D-10QP as obsolete. The device is no longer manufactured and is not available through standard authorized distribution channels. Availability is lot-specific and confirmed at RFQ time. A board redesign to a current-generation programmable logic device (such as a MachXO or ispMACH family member in a compatible package) is the long-term migration path.
