The TPSA155K025R3000 is a molded tantalum capacitor from KYOCERA AVX's TPS series, delivering 1.5 µF capacitance at 25 V rated voltage with ±10% tolerance. The 1206 (3216 Metric) footprint fits standard reflow processes, but the 1.80 mm seated height is taller than a typical MLCC of the same case size — confirm clearance under low-profile components.
For new designs, the TPS series remains a supported choice; for existing BOMs, the supply chain is stable through independent distribution.
The molded case provides mechanical stability under vibration, but the tantalum anode's surge current rating should be derated per MIL-PRF-55365 guidelines when used in high-energy circuits like bulk decoupling on a 28 V bus.
