What the 15 Ohm ESR means on your board
The 15 Ohm ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) sets the self-heating limit under ripple current. For a 0.68 µF cap at 20 V, the AC ripple current that produces a 10°C temperature rise is roughly 50 mA RMS — stay below that to keep the part within its rated temperature range. In a decoupling role on a 20 V rail, this cap handles the high-frequency transients where the ESR dominates the impedance.
Temperature grade — field-replacement fit
The molded case (type: Molded) resists moisture and mechanical stress better than a conformally-coated chip — important when you are swapping it on site without a conformal-coat bake.
