AEC-Q200 bulk decoupling for automotive and harsh environments
The TAJE227K010TNJV is a 220 µF, 10 V molded tantalum capacitor from the KYOCERA AVX TAJ series, qualified to AEC-Q200. That automotive-grade qualification means it has passed the extended temperature cycling, moisture resistance, and vibration tests required for under-hood and chassis-domain electronics — not just cabin infotainment. The 500 mOhm ESR at 100 kHz is the number to watch for ripple current and self-heating. In a 10 V rail with 100 mV ripple, the capacitor dissipates roughly 20 mW — well within the 2917 package's thermal budget, but check the ripple current derating if the ambient exceeds 85 °C.
Full military temperature range in a surface-mount 2917
Rated -55 to 125 °C, this capacitor spans the full military temperature band. That makes it a candidate for avionics power supplies, downhole instrumentation, and engine-bay ECUs where the ambient can swing from a cold soak to under-hood heat soak. The molded case and surface-mount 2917 footprint keep the assembly compatible with standard reflow profiles — no hand-soldering needed.
