ESR and current delivery
The SCMR22L105SSBB0: With a 350 mOhm ESR at 1 kHz, this part can deliver short-duration current pulses up to roughly 25 A peak (theoretical I = V/ESR at full charge), but the practical limit is set by the 9 V rating and the thermal budget. For a 5 A, 100 ms pulse, the internal I²R heating is about 8.75 W — well within the 1 F energy reserve if the duty cycle is low. The -10%/+30% tolerance on the 1 F capacitance means a fresh part may measure anywhere from 0.9 F to 1.3 F. This spread matters for timing circuits or ride-through applications where the hold-up time scales directly with capacitance.
Temperature range and lifetime
Rated for -40°C to 65°C operating temperature with a 1000-hour lifetime at 65°C. Below 65°C, the lifetime extends roughly by a factor of 2 for every 10°C drop — at 45°C, expect ~4000 hours; at 25°C, roughly 16,000 hours. This is typical for aqueous-electrolyte supercaps; the 65°C ceiling limits use in hot environments like engine bays or near power resistors.
Through-hole radial can — board integration
Packaged in a radial, through-hole can with PC pins and 0.531" (13.50 mm) lead spacing. The 0.531" lead pitch matches standard 0.5" breadboard or perfboard layouts, but the 26 mm height may conflict with low-profile enclosures — check clearance before layout.
