Capacitance, voltage, and ESR for hold-up and backup
The SCMR22H155PSBB0: Rated 1.5 F at 6 V, this SCM-series supercapacitor stores enough energy for short-duration hold-up or backup power in a 6 V rail — think RTC backup, power-fail ride-through, or peak-power buffering in a low-voltage system. ESR is specified at 200 mOhm at 1 kHz — this is the series resistance that limits charge/discharge current and contributes to I²R heating during ripple or pulse loads. A lower ESR means less voltage droop under transient draw. Lifetime is rated 1000 hours at 65 °C — the electrolyte evaporation rate doubles for every 10 °C above rated temperature, so operating at 45 °C extends useful life well beyond the 1000-hour figure. The full operating range is -40 °C to 65 °C.
Through-hole radial can — board integration
Radial through-hole can, 18.50 mm x 9.50 mm body, seated height 25.50 mm max. Lead spacing is 11.50 mm. The PC-pin termination suits wave-solder assembly on a standard PCB — the two leads carry the full charge current, so the pad copper area and trace width should be sized for the peak discharge current the load demands. Tolerance is 0%, +100% — the actual capacitance can be up to double the nominal 1.5 F. This asymmetric tolerance is typical for supercapacitors and means the downstream circuit must accept the higher stored energy without overvoltage or timing issues.
