440 macrocells in a 144-TQFP
The EPM570GT144C5 is an Intel MAX® II CPLD packing 440 macrocells and 570 logic elements into a 144-TQFP (20x20 mm) footprint — the largest density in the MAX II family that still fits a TQFP-144 land pattern. With 116 user I/O and a propagation delay (tpd1) of 5.4 ns max, this part bridges the gap between a glue-logic CPLD and a small FPGA: enough macrocells for a 16-bit address decoder plus state machine, without the FPGA's configuration memory overhead.
1.8 V core, in-system programmable
In-system programmable via JTAG, so the part can be programmed after soldering — no need for a socket or pre-programmed inventory if the firmware is loaded at board test. The 144-TQFP package has a 0.5 mm pitch and a 20x20 mm body — the exposed pad is not present, so rework is straightforward with a hot-air station; the part lifts cleanly if the board is preheated to 125 °C.
