40K logic elements in a single-core FPGA
The Intel 10M40DCF256I6G is a MAX® 10 FPGA with 40000 logic elements and 178 user I/O, housed in a 256-FBGA (17x17 mm) package. It carries 1290240 bits of on-chip RAM, enough to buffer a full frame of 640x480 video at 8-bit depth without external memory.
The core supply accepts 1.15V to 1.25V, letting it share a 1.2V rail with DDR memory or a 1.8V-to-1.2V LDO without a dedicated regulator.
256-FBGA footprint and board integration
The 256-LBGA (17x17 mm, 1.0 mm ball pitch) demands a 4-layer PCB minimum for fan-out; the inner two layers carry the 1.2V core plane and ground. The 178 I/O are distributed across four banks, each with its own VCCIO rail — you can mix 3.3V, 2.5V, and 1.8V interfaces on the same die without external level shifters.
