SP4T switch for signal routing
The MAX4704EUB+ is a single-pole, four-throw (SP4T) analog switch from Analog Devices, packaged in a 10-uMAX/uSOP surface-mount case. It routes one common I/O to any of four channels, or operates as a 4:1 multiplexer/demultiplexer. The 60-ohm max on-resistance sets the insertion loss floor for the signal path; with channel-to-channel matching held to 1 ohm, gain errors across channels stay tight in precision analog front-ends. The -90 dB crosstalk at 1 MHz and 200 MHz bandwidth suit it for multiplexing video, RF, or high-speed data lines where isolation between selected and deselected paths matters.
Supply and temperature range
Charge injection is rated at 2 pC, low enough to avoid glitching the sampled value in a downstream ADC when the switch toggles.
Switching speed and leakage
Turn-on time is 60 ns max, turn-off 20 ns max — fast enough for 10 MHz clock multiplexing or audio source selection without audible pop. Off-channel leakage is 100 pA max, and channel capacitance is 7 pF, so the switch does not load the bus in high-impedance sensor or precision reference paths.
It is RoHS3 compliant.
