Multi-chemistry charger with programmable current
The LTC4012CUF#PBF is a constant-current, programmable multi-chemistry battery charger IC from the PowerPath™ series, supporting 1 to 4 series cells. Maximum supply voltage is 28 V, giving headroom for charging 4-series Li-ion packs (16.8 V typical) or lead-acid stacks up to 24 V nominal. Over-voltage fault protection is integrated, so the charger shuts down if the battery voltage exceeds a safe threshold — no external comparator needed for basic protection.
20-QFN package and board integration
Housed in a 20-lead WFQFN with exposed pad (4 mm × 4 mm body), the LTC4012CUF#PBF requires a thermal land on the PCB to dissipate heat from the internal power FET during constant-current charging. Supplied in tube packaging, suitable for low-to-medium volume production or prototype builds where tape-and-reel is not required.
