The Maxim Integrated DS80C323-MCD+ is an 8-bit microcontroller built around the 8051 core, running at 18 MHz. It is a ROMless device — all program memory must be supplied externally via the external bus interface (EBI/EMI). On-chip RAM is 256 x 8 bytes. The part integrates a power-fail reset and a watchdog timer (WDT) for basic system supervision. Connectivity includes SIO and UART/USART serial interfaces, plus 32 general-purpose I/O lines. It operates from 2.7 V to 5.5 V over the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, and is housed in a 40-pin PDIP (0.600" body) for through-hole assembly.
