Product details

Dual 12-bit DAC in a wide-body SOIC

The AD7247KRZ is a dual 12-bit voltage-output DAC from Analog Devices' DACPORT® family, packing two independent converters in a single 24-SOIC wide-body package (0.295" body width, 7.50 mm). Each DAC uses an R-2R ladder architecture and delivers a buffered voltage output with ±0.5 LSB max INL and ±0.9 LSB max DNL — the INL spec is tight enough for 12-bit monotonicity across temperature without external trimming. Settling time is 10 µs to ±0.5 LSB, which suits closed-loop control and waveform generation where the update rate stays below 100 kHz per channel.

Supply rails and temperature grade

The part runs on split analog supplies of ±15 V and a separate +15 V digital supply — the analog rails give the output amplifiers headroom for a ±10 V swing, while the digital rail powers the parallel interface and internal logic. The reference can be driven externally or sourced from the internal reference — the external option lets you tie multiple DACs to a single precision reference for ratiometric accuracy across channels.

Parallel interface and board integration

The differential output is not available — the outputs are single-ended, buffered, and can drive up to 5 mA directly into a load or an op-amp buffer stage.

Frequently asked questions

How does the AD7247KRZ compare to the AD7249ARZ?

The AD7249ARZ is a single-supply (10.8 V) dual DAC with an SPI interface, while the AD7247KRZ uses a parallel interface and requires ±15 V analog supplies plus a separate 15 V digital rail. The AD7247KRZ also offers tighter INL (±0.5 LSB max vs ±1 LSB max). They are not pin-compatible — the interface and supply scheme differ, so a board spin is needed to swap between them.
