256-tap I2C digital pot in SOT-23-8 — trim or set levels on a 2.7–5.5 V rail
The AD5245BRJZ5-RL7 is a single-channel, 256-tap digital potentiometer with linear taper, I2C interface, and selectable address. End-to-end resistance is 5 kΩ with 50 Ω typical wiper resistance.
Temperature range and drift — rated for industrial and automotive environments
That keeps the set resistance stable across the thermal swing of a motor-drive cabinet, outdoor base station, or under-hood electronics bay. The ±30% absolute tolerance on the end-to-end resistance is typical for digital pots — the real precision comes from the ratiometric tap accuracy, which is what matters for divider applications.
Memory and configuration — volatile, so power-up state matters
This is a volatile digital pot. On power-up the wiper defaults to midscale. The selectable address lets two AD5245s share the I2C bus.
Package and mounting — SOT-23-8, surface-mount only
Housed in an 8-lead SOT-23 package, this part is surface-mount only. The small footprint fits tight mixed-signal layouts.
ADI lists the AD5245BRJZ5-RL7 as active. No last-time-buy window or obsolescence notice is in effect.
