Depth and width expansion are supported via the expansion logic pins, so you can cascade multiple AM7201-25JC parts to build a deeper or wider FIFO array. There are no programmable flags (empty/full are hardwired), so the cascade control is external — typically a small CPLD or glue logic handles the handshake between stages. The 512 x 9 depth is enough for a single packet buffer in many telecom or printer applications; for deeper buffering, plan for additional FIFOs and the associated logic.
