Open-drain buffer — what the 32 mA sink means
The TC7PZ07FU,LJ(CT: This is a non-inverting buffer with open-drain output, meaning the output transistor sinks current to ground when active and floats (high-impedance) when inactive — the pull-up resistor is external, so the output high voltage is set by the pull-up rail, not the supply pin. The 32 mA sink capability is the current the output can pull low — enough to drive a small relay coil, an LED indicator, or a logic input with a 1 kΩ pull-up to 3.3 V (3.3 mA sink) with plenty of margin. For higher-current loads like a 100 mA solenoid, an external transistor or MOSFET driver is needed.
