Bipolar stepper drive with 1/32 microstepping
The TB67S289FTG,EL is a fully integrated bipolar stepper motor driver from Toshiba, combining the control logic and power stage in a single 48-VFQFN package with an exposed pad for thermal management. It drives one bipolar stepper winding through eight half-bridge outputs, with step resolution selectable from full-step down to 1/32 microstep — giving the motion profile the granularity to reduce low-speed resonance and smooth out the torque ripple. The motor supply accepts 10 V to 47 V, and the integrated Power MOSFET output stage delivers up to 3 A continuous per winding, which covers the majority of NEMA 17 and smaller NEMA 23 frame steppers used in pick-and-place, lab automation, and 3D printer gantries.
Supply rails and interface
The control interface is parallel — step and direction pins plus the microstep-select lines are driven directly by the host MCU or motion controller, with no SPI or UART configuration overhead. Operating temperature range is -20°C to 85°C ambient, which covers most indoor industrial and commercial equipment but not extended outdoor or under-hood automotive environments.
