What the bias resistors mean for your BOM line
The RN2417,LXHF is a PNP pre-biased transistor — the 10 kOhm base resistor (R1) and 4.7 kOhm emitter-base resistor (R2) are integrated on-chip, so you drop the two external resistors from the BOM and save one placement per channel. The 50 V collector-emitter breakdown and 100 mA continuous collector current set the load ceiling for driving relays, small solenoids, or logic-level loads in an automotive 12 V or 24 V environment.
Saturation voltage and drive margin
Vce(sat) is 300 mV max at 250 µA base drive and 5 mA collector current — the on-state voltage drop stays under 0.3 V at that drive point, which keeps the transistor cool and leaves headroom for the load. The 200 MHz transition frequency is fast enough for PWM switching up to several hundred kilohertz; the 500 nA collector cut-off means negligible leakage at high temperature.
