Product details

What this pre-biased PNP does on the board

The RN2311,LXHF is a PNP pre-biased transistor — the 10 kOhm base resistor is built into the SC-70 package, so you drop the external resistor from the BOM and save one placement per channel. Rated for 50 V collector-emitter breakdown and 100 mA continuous collector current, it handles typical low-side switching in 24 V industrial logic or 5 V / 3.3 V digital loads without breaking a sweat.

Gain and saturation at your operating point

Saturation voltage is 300 mV max at 250 µA base drive and 5 mA collector load — the part pulls low cleanly into a logic input or a relay coil without eating into the headroom. Transition frequency of 200 MHz means it switches fast enough for PWM dimming or serial data gating up into the low-MHz range.

Package and reflow reality

Housed in SC-70 (SOT-323), the three-pin footprint is the same as a standard small-signal transistor — the built-in resistor just means the base pin connects directly to the drive signal with no external bias network.
