Product details

2.5 A source, 5 A sink — asymmetric drive for hard-switched turn-off

The UCC27533DBVT delivers a peak source current of 2.5 A and a peak sink current of 5 A. That asymmetry is intentional: the higher sink pulls the gate down fast during hard-switched turn-off, reducing the dead-time window needed between complementary switches. Typical rise time is 15 ns and fall time is 7 ns, which keeps the Miller plateau short and limits cross-conduction losses in the half-bridge leg.

The supply range from 10 V to 32 V covers the common industrial bus voltages without a separate bias regulator. The logic thresholds are set at 1.2 V (VIL) and 2.2 V (VIH), compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V controllers. Both inverting and non-inverting input configurations are supported on the same pin, so a single BOM position can serve either polarity by swapping the signal routing.

Active production — SOT-23-5 rework profile

The SOT-23-5 package (SC-74A) is a five-pin footprint with 0.95 mm pitch — easy to hand-rework with a hot-air station set to 300 °C for 30 seconds.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between UCC27533DBVT and the LM5106MM/NOPB?

The UCC27533DBVT is a single-channel low-side driver in SOT-23-5; the LM5106MM/NOPB is a dual-channel half-bridge driver with synchronous drive in an 8-pin MSOP. The LM5106 includes a bootstrap diode for the high-side channel and operates from an 8 V minimum supply, whereas the UCC27533DBVT runs from 10 V to 32 V and drives a single low-side IGBT or N-channel MOSFET. They are not pin-compatible replacements — the choice depends on whether the application needs a half-bridge topology or a single-ended low-side switch.
