8 ns rise, 7 ns fall — what that buys the power stage
The UCC27511AQDBVRQ1: The asymmetric drive — 4 A source, 8 A sink — is intentional: the stronger pull-down ensures fast, clean turn-off of the external FET, reducing cross-conduction losses in a half-bridge or synchronous buck stage. The 8 ns rise time keeps switching losses in check for PWM frequencies up to several hundred kilohertz.
The supply range spans 4.5 V to 18 V, which means a single driver can be used across 5 V logic-level FETs, 12 V automotive battery-referenced gate drives, and 15 V industrial IGBT stages without a separate bias rail. Both inverting and non-inverting inputs are available on the same device, giving the designer a choice of polarity without adding an external inverter.
150°C junction — rated for under-hood and engine-bay environments
The 150°C ceiling allows the part to sit next to a hot MOSFET or IGBT without derating the output current — a common requirement in mild-hybrid and DC-DC converter stages.
