Dual 4 A low-side gate driver — 8-DIP through-hole
The UCC27425PG4: It drives both N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs with independent inverting and non-inverting inputs, giving the designer flexible polarity control for half-bridge, synchronous buck, and push-pull stages. The 8-DIP (0.300", 7.62 mm) through-hole package suits bench prototypes, rework-friendly designs, and applications where a surface-mount part would complicate manual assembly or field service.
20 ns rise / 15 ns fall — switching-speed budget
Typical rise time of 20 ns and fall time of 15 ns at 4 A peak output let the driver switch the gate capacitance of medium-power MOSFETs with minimal cross-conduction loss. The 4 A symmetric source/sink rating keeps the turn-on and turn-off edges balanced, which simplifies dead-time calculation in a half-bridge.
4 V to 15 V supply — rail flexibility
The supply range from 4 V to 15 V covers 5 V logic rails and 12 V gate-drive rails commonly found in industrial power supplies, motor drives, and DC-DC converters. At 5 V supply the driver still delivers the full 4 A peak current, so it works with low-voltage controllers driving standard-threshold MOSFETs.
