That symmetric 4A drive handles the gate charge of medium-power N-channel and P-channel MOSFETs without needing an external booster stage. Supply voltage spans 4.5V to 15V, so the same part works on a 5V logic rail or a 12V gate-drive rail. The inverting input logic thresholds (1V VIL, 2V VIH) are compatible with 3.3V and 5V controllers directly.
20 ns rise, 15 ns fall — switching loss and gate charge
Typical rise time is 20 ns and fall time 15 ns into the rated load. Fast edges reduce the time the driven MOSFET spends in the linear region, which cuts switching losses in hard-switched converters and motor drives. The 4A peak current is what makes those edge rates possible with larger gate capacitances.
