The UCC27321QDRQ1 delivers 9 A peak source and 9 A peak sink current into the MOSFET gate, with a typical rise and fall time of 20 ns. This symmetric drive strength lets it switch large-gate-charge power MOSFETs in hard-switching topologies — motor drives, DC-DC converters, and solenoid drivers — without an external booster stage. The 20 ns edge rate means the driver's own switching loss is negligible; the total turn-on and turn-off delay is set by the external gate resistor and the MOSFET's input capacitance.
Automotive-grade qualification and temperature envelope
This driver carries AEC-Q100 qualification, which adds the PPAP submission, change-notification control, and extended temperature-range validation that production automotive programs require. The 105°C ceiling is the derating boundary for the 9 A peak output — at high junction temperature the internal die temperature limits the repetitive peak current, so the thermal impedance of the PCB copper plane under the 8-SOIC package sets the practical duty cycle.
