120 V bootstrap, 2.5 A / 3.5 A peak — half-bridge driver for automotive power stages
The Texas Instruments UCC27282QDDARQ1 is an automotive-grade half-bridge gate driver designed to drive two N-channel MOSFETs in synchronous buck, boost, and full-bridge topologies. Rated for a bootstrap supply up to 120 V, it handles 48 V and 72 V automotive bus voltages with margin. The 2.5 A source and 3.5 A sink peak output current charges and discharges the MOSFET gate capacitance quickly, keeping switching losses low in DC-DC converters and motor-drive inverters. The supply range of 5.5 V to 16 V covers both regulated 5 V intermediate rails and the 12 V automotive battery line during cold-crank and load-dump transients. Logic inputs are compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V controllers, with VIL at 1.3 V and VIH at 1.9 V, so no external level translation is needed.
