Half-bridge gate driver with 4 A peak drive
The Texas Instruments UCC27210DR is a high-frequency half-bridge gate driver designed for N-channel MOSFETs in synchronous buck, full-bridge, and three-phase topologies. It delivers 4 A peak source and 4 A peak sink current from each of its two independent driver channels, with a 7.2 ns typical rise time and 5.5 ns typical fall time into a 1 nF load. The bootstrap high-side driver supports a maximum voltage of 120 V, making it suitable for 48 V to 80 V DC-DC converters and motor-drive rails.
Switching speed and dead-time margin
The 7.2 ns rise and 5.5 ns fall times at 4 A peak allow tight dead-time control in hard-switched bridges. At 500 kHz switching, the 12.7 ns total propagation delay (typ) leaves margin for a 50 ns dead band before cross-conduction risk rises.
Temperature rating and physical handling
Rated for a -40°C to 140°C junction temperature range, the UCC27210DR suits industrial motor drives, automotive under-hood environments, and outdoor telecom power supplies where ambient heat plus self-heating pushes die temperature above 125°C.
