35 A output and switching flexibility
The TPS548C26RXXR: Rated for 35 A continuous output, this buck converter handles high-current rails for FPGAs, ASICs, or processor cores without needing external paralleling. The switching frequency is programmable across 600 kHz, 800 kHz, 1 MHz, and 1.2 MHz — a 1 MHz setting keeps the inductor small while staying below the AM band, which matters for noise-sensitive RF sections. Input voltage spans 2.7 V to 16 V, covering 3.3 V and 5 V intermediate buses as well as 12 V rails, with an adjustable output from 0.8 V up to 5.5 V.
Package and thermal integration
Housed in a 37-lead PowerWFQFN with wettable flanks (5 mm × 6 mm), the package allows automated optical inspection of the solder joints — a requirement for automotive and high-reliability assembly lines. The operating junction temperature range of -40°C to 125°C suits industrial enclosures and outdoor telecom gear where ambient heat pushes the silicon. Synchronous rectification is built in, so no external Schottky diode is needed for the low-side switch — the internal FET handles the return path and improves efficiency at high load.
