5V rail supervisor with adjustable timeout
The Texas Instruments TPS3850H50DRCT is a simple reset/power-on reset IC designed to monitor a single 5V supply rail. It asserts a reset signal (active-low, open-drain output) when the monitored voltage drops below the 5V threshold, and releases it after an adjustable reset timeout period. The open-drain output allows wired-OR connection with other reset sources and simplifies level translation to lower-voltage logic.
Adjustable reset timeout — how it works
The reset timeout is adjustable/selectable via an external capacitor, giving the designer control over the delay before the part releases the reset after the supply returns above the threshold.
Open-drain output — design flexibility
It supports wired-OR connection with other reset sources.
Housed in a 10-VSON package measuring 3x3 mm (supplier device package 10-VSON), this is a compact surface-mount part suitable for space-constrained designs. The exposed pad aids thermal dissipation.
It is ROHS3 compliant.
