Active-high output — check your reset polarity
This part drives an active-high reset output in a push-pull, totem-pole configuration. Most processors expect an active-low reset, so verify the downstream reset input polarity. If your design uses an active-low reset, an inverter between the supervisor output and the processor reset pin is needed.
120ms timeout — enough for rail and oscillator settle
The reset timeout is 120ms minimum, which gives the 3.3V rail and the processor's oscillator time to stabilise before the part releases the reset. This is long enough for most ceramic-bypassed supplies and crystal oscillators to reach steady state, but short enough that the system boots within a few hundred milliseconds of power-up.
SOT-23-5 package — board area and layout
Housed in a SOT-23-5 (SC-74A) package, the TPS3825-33DBVT consumes minimal board area. The 5-pin footprint is standard for small supervisors and routes easily on two-layer boards. Surface-mount assembly is straightforward with standard reflow profiles.
