2.25V threshold supervisor for 3.3V rails
It is designed for 3.3V systems — the threshold sits well below the nominal rail, so the reset triggers before the processor's brown-out threshold, giving the core time to shut down cleanly.
120 ms reset timeout — processor power-up sequencing
The reset timeout is 120 ms minimum, meaning the reset output stays low (or high, depending on configuration) for at least 120 ms after the supply crosses the threshold. This gives the oscillator and internal regulator of the supervised processor time to stabilise before the first instruction fetch. In a system with a slow-start supply or a large bulk capacitor, the timeout ensures the processor does not start until the rail is solid.
Dual complementary reset outputs
The TPS3824-25DBVT provides both active-high and active-low reset outputs in a push-pull, totem-pole configuration. No external pull-up resistor is needed on the active-low output — it drives high when reset is de-asserted. This simplifies the BOM for processors that require either polarity, and the push-pull output eliminates the pull-up resistor that a standard open-drain reset would need.
Industrial temperature range, SOT-23-5 package
The SOT-23-5 package (SC-74A, SOT-753) is a standard five-pin surface-mount footprint, 0.95 mm pitch, easy to route on a two-layer board. The supplier device package is SOT-23-5, which is the same mechanical outline as the SC-74A.
The base product number is TPS3824, and the -25 suffix denotes the 2.25V threshold variant. For a 3.3V system, this is the correct threshold — the -33 variant (TPS3824-33DBVT) monitors for a 3.07V threshold, which is tighter to the rail.
