Supervisor for battery-backed rails
It monitors a 1.78V threshold and asserts an active-low, push-pull reset when the supply drops below that level, holding the reset for a minimum of 60ms after recovery. The push-pull output eliminates the external pull-up resistor needed with open-drain supervisors, saving one component per rail. Typical applications include battery-backed SRAM, real-time clocks, and low-voltage microcontroller systems where a clean reset must be maintained during brownout or power cycling.
The 1.78V trip point is set for 1.8V nominal logic supplies. A 1.8V rail that droops below 1.78V triggers a reset, protecting downstream devices from operating in the undefined region between logic thresholds. For a battery-backed SRAM or RTC, that margin prevents data corruption when the primary supply sags during a switchover to backup.
ROHS3 compliant, no lead or restricted substances. The base product number TPS3600 covers multiple threshold options; the D20 suffix selects the 1.78V variant.
