Watchdog supervision for industrial rails
The TPS3435CAKAGDDFR is a Texas Instruments watchdog circuit that monitors a single voltage rail and asserts an active-low reset when the supply drops below threshold or the watchdog input is not serviced within the timeout window. The open-drain output lets you pull the reset line to any voltage up to the absolute maximum, which is useful when the supervisor runs on a different rail than the supervised logic.
Housed in a TSOT-23-8 package (SOT-23-8 footprint), the part is a surface-mount device. The small footprint keeps the board-space impact low, but the narrow pitch means the PCB layout should route the reset output and supply traces with care to avoid noise coupling into the watchdog input. Compared to the TLV803EA29VDBZR (simple reset, 130 ms timeout) or the TLV803ED29DBZR (33 ms timeout), the TPS3435CAKAGDDFR adds the watchdog function — it does not just monitor the supply, it also expects a periodic toggle on the watchdog input. If the system firmware hangs and stops toggling, the watchdog forces a reset.
