Thresholds, timeout, and output — what drives the BOM decision
The 1.85V and 2.92V thresholds are set for 1.8V and 3.3V logic families respectively — the supervisor holds reset low until both rails are stable above their thresholds, then releases after a 70ms minimum reset timeout. The open-drain output lets multiple reset sources (another supervisor, a watchdog, a manual reset button) share a common pull-up resistor to the same rail — useful in multi-voltage designs where the reset signal must be valid before the core supply is up. The 8-SOIC footprint is a standard 0.154-inch body width, 3.90 mm — a common package that routes easily on two-layer boards and mates with existing layout footprints for similar supervisors.
