What this supervisor does that a single-voltage part cannot
The Texas Instruments TPS3305-33DGN is a multi-voltage supervisor that monitors two independent supply rails — one at 2.93V and one at 4.55V — and asserts a common reset output when either falls below its threshold. That dual-threshold capability saves a second supervisor IC and the associated board area in systems that need to sequence or protect both a 3.3V core rail and a 5V I/O rail. The reset output is push-pull, available in both active-high and active-low polarities, so it interfaces directly with most MCU reset pins or enable inputs without an external pull-up resistor.
The 140 ms reset timeout — what it buys you
A minimum reset timeout of 140 ms gives the power supplies time to settle and the oscillator to stabilise before the processor is released from reset. That is long enough for most linear and switching regulators to reach regulation after a brown-out or power-on event, but short enough that the system does not sit idle through a full second of dead time. If your design uses a fast-starting DC-DC converter, the timeout still provides a clean hold-off window without needing an external delay capacitor.
