Dual 2A low-side driver for synchronous MOSFET switching
The Texas Instruments TPS2811DR is a dual low-side MOSFET gate driver in an 8-SOIC surface-mount package. It drives both N-Channel and P-Channel MOSFETs with a peak output current of 2A source and 2A sink per channel, making it suited for synchronous buck converters, push-pull topologies, and other low-side switching stages where two independent gates need fast, matched drive. Supply voltage range of 4V to 14V covers common 5V and 12V rails used in industrial and automotive power supplies. The inverting input type means the output goes high when the input is low — check your controller's polarity before laying out the PCB. Rise and fall times are 14ns and 15ns typical. Peak output is 2A source and 2A sink.
Temperature grade and environment
Rated for -40°C to 125°C ambient, this driver fits industrial motor drives, outdoor telecom rectifiers, and under-hood automotive modules where the PCB sees elevated temperatures. The 8-SOIC package keeps board area small, but verify the thermal impedance for your load — continuous 2A switching into a high-capacitance gate at 125°C may need airflow or a heatsink pad.
Logic interface and BOM fit
Logic thresholds are 1V VIL and 4V VIH. Minimum supply is 4V.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The TPS2811DR is an active, current-production part from Texas Instruments, ROHS3 compliant. No end-of-life notice or last-time-buy is indicated.
