The TPS259261DRCT: The device functions as an electronic fuse (eFuse) with a built-in FET driver, switching a 4.5V to 13.8V input rail at up to 5A continuous — suitable for protecting 5V, 9V, or 12V power distribution in industrial control boards and battery-powered equipment. The ±15% accuracy on the current-limit threshold means a 5A nominal trip point could engage as low as 4.25A or as high as 5.75A — the downstream load must tolerate that window without nuisance tripping or overstress.
Surface-mount assembly with Tape & Reel packaging supports high-volume pick-and-place; the exposed pad requires a solder paste stencil aperture covering at least 50% of the pad area for reliable void-free joints.
Second-source reality check
The INA234BIYBJR and INA199B2QDCKRQ1 are current-sense monitors, not electronic fuses — they measure current but cannot switch or limit it. They are not functional replacements for the TPS259261DRCT and will not drop into the same BOM position without a board redesign.
